Inspection Export Recipe

TankSafe currently offers two export paths from the Admin view: a PDF summary that mirrors the charge sheet and a JSON "job dossier" that you can copy for deeper analysis. CSV, scheduled exports, and API automation have not been implemented yet.

Prerequisites

• Role: Admin (the export controls live on the Admin ▸ Jobs detail page).
• Browser: Chrome, Edge, or Safari (latest two versions) with download permissions enabled.

Export the inspection PDF

1. Open Admin ▸ Jobs and select the job you want to share.
2. Scroll to the header actions and choose Export PDF.
3. TankSafe renders the PDF in the browser using the JobReportPDF component and downloads a file named after the job number (for example, JOB-101-inspection-report.pdf).
4. Share the PDF through your normal document workflow (email, shared drive, etc.).

The export includes the inspection metadata, health metrics, compartment overview, and the answers from each completed form in the job.

Capture the job dossier (JSON)

1. On the same job detail page, switch to the Job Dossier tab.
2. Click Load Dossier. TankSafe fetches live data from Supabase and displays the JSON payload in a scrollable panel.
3. Use Copy JSON to send the contents to your clipboard for archiving or downstream processing.

This is the fastest way to obtain raw data without writing database queries. Paste the JSON into your analysis tool of choice or attach it to a support ticket.

Current limitations

• Bulk CSV exports, scheduled jobs, and storage delivery targets are not available yet.
• There is no public /exports API or webhook to automate downloads.
• PDF generation happens entirely in the browser; keep the tab open until the download completes.

We will update this guide once additional export formats or automation endpoints ship in the repository.
